Iran Signals Openness to Negotiations With U.S., Says No Talks Currently Planned

Diplomatic Meeting Between Iran And Thier Counterpart

Iran is open to dialogue aimed at easing tensions with the United States but has no concrete plans to engage in direct talks with Washington, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday, amid continued warnings of possible U.S. military action.

Speaking at a joint press conference in Istanbul alongside Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Araghchi said Iran was not preparing for meetings with U.S. officials. He noted, however, that Tehran remains willing to consider negotiations under specific conditions.

According to Araghchi, any future talks would need to be based on fairness and mutual respect, with prior agreement on the framework, venue, and agenda. He emphasized that these elements would have to be settled before negotiations could proceed.

At the same time, Araghchi said Iran is prepared to respond to any escalation, stating that the country maintains readiness both for diplomatic engagement and for conflict if necessary.
