Pop icon Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have ignited widespread online speculation following their recent dinner together in Montreal. The two were seen sharing an intimate meal at an upscale restaurant on Monday evening, just weeks after Perry’s confirmed split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom.
A video clip obtained by TMZ shows Perry engaged in what appears to be a deep and animated conversation with Trudeau, leaning in across the table. According to a witness, the pair seemed at ease, enjoying cocktails and sampling several dishes throughout the evening.
The 40-year-old singer and the 53-year-old former leader reportedly shared a pleasant evening, with a restaurant representative telling PEOPLE that the two even visited the kitchen post-meal to thank the chef and staff personally. “They were incredibly kind and gracious to our team. It was a delight to have them dine with us,” the representative said.
TMZ also reported that before their dinner, the two took a casual stroll through a nearby park. Photos published by the outlet show them dressed comfortably for the outing—Trudeau in jeans, a navy T-shirt, and a cap, while Perry wore jeans, a white top, white flats, and a wide-brimmed sun hat that partly concealed her face.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Confirm Breakup
The dinner comes on the heels of Perry’s breakup with actor Orlando Bloom. The couple, who had been together for nine years and got engaged in 2019, recently announced their separation. According to People, the two are now focusing on co-parenting their 4½-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove.
“In light of increased public interest in Katy and Orlando’s relationship, representatives confirm they have gradually been transitioning their relationship in recent months to prioritize co-parenting,” a joint statement said. “They remain committed to raising their daughter in a loving, stable, and respectful environment.”
Justin Trudeau’s Recent Separation
Meanwhile, Justin Trudeau is also navigating life post-relationship, having announced his separation from wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple shares three children.
